Dear Colleague,
Greetings!
On November 8-14, 2009, the Philippine Dermatological Society will be celebrating its 10th year of holding the National Skin Disease Detection and Prevention Week (SKINWEEK). This yearly activity aims to promote skin health for all Filipinos by focusing on early detection and prevention of skin diseases.
As has been done last year, our Society will conduct the SKINWEEK FREE CLINIC. PDS and industry sponsors will be holding free dermatology clinics in barangay health centers and parishes in key cities throughout the Philippines, giving free consultation and medicines. We invite everyone to show your support and offer your services and expertise for the benefit of our fellow countrymen.
Free clinic days are scheduled for: November 8 (Sunday), Nov. 9 (Monday), Nov. 10 (Tuesday), and Nov. 14 (Saturday). For those willing to join, you may contact any member of the SKINWEEK Task Force (Dr. Mylene Ledda, Dr. Jun Pascual or Dr. Suzanne Manalo).
We hope for your continued participation in this worthwhile activity the same way you have supported our past SKINWEEK Program.
Yours truly,
MERCEDITA F. MARCELINO, MD, FPDS

The Philippine Dermatological Society in its desire to help the public distinguish legitimate, board certified dermatologists from fake pseudodermatologists, conceptualized the making of a sign or symbol that PDS members can easily display or use in their respective clinics. The "Seal of Excellence" was thus finally made public last ..

Dear Colleagues,
