A Taste of Something New-Image of the New Generation!

The yPDS (young PDS members) staged yet another exciting fellowship activity at Fiamma last July 2, 2008. This exclusive event merged the pleasures of wine-tasting with an image enhancement workshop by Lia Bernardo. Well-attended by over a hundred yPDS members (and graced by selected members of the PDS board), the event was a refreshing venue for both learning and fun.

The highlight of the evening was a talk by veteran consultant Lia Sevilla Bernardo on projecting a professional image . It was an interesting discussion on self-improvement, as she focused on various aspects of maintaining and presenting a competent, professional demeanor in line with the duties and responsibilities of a young dermatologist. During the course of the night, she managed to expound on various subjects such as managing first impressions, dealing with difficult patients, and even wardrobe planning! It was a very helpful interactive session, which addressed many of our concerns and questions as young professionals.

Mr. Carlo Javier followed with his discourse on wine-tasting, which was essentially a crash course on the basics of wine appreciation . As befitting the evening's programme (which included sampling various vintages and types of wine from different countries), he managed to distill the complexities involved in this noble art and present it to his audience of novices in clear and concise terms.

The evening was definitely a huge success (especially for the raffle winners of a digital camera, a digicorder, and various skin care products )! We look forward to bonding with all of you at our next yPDS activity. Cheers!
