A leprosy storybook for children entitled “John’s Big Adventure: Leprosy, You Can’t Defeat Me!” is now available to the public. This is a joint project of the Philippine Leprosy Mission and the Phi Lambda Delta Sorority- UP College of Medicine. PDS member and likewise President, Board of Trustees of the Philippine Leprosy Mission, Inc. spearheaded the book project, developed the concept and acted as technical consultant, and editor. The writers were Julie Pascual, Keeshia Cacdac, Kim Sangel and Pat Valdez with illustrators: Jennifee Lou Novero and Alyxandra Kim Sangel. The lay-out artist was Nashelle Rae Manapil.

This began as a seed of an idea in the mid-2000 and is now reality –taking 3 years in the making! The story is about John who goes on a mission to find his missing brother and learns more about himself and leprosy during his challenging journey. The story is in English and Filipino and targets children in Grade 4 and above.
