The PDS-SPC, in partnership with Robinsons Galleria, held its very first “Skin Health and Eczema Congress/Fair”, entitled “ Maghi-usa ta! Batok sa mga Sakit sa Panit”, at Robinsons Galleria Atrium, Cebu City, last February 25, 2018, Sunday, from 11:00 morning to 5:00 afternoon. This was held in celebration of World Skin Health Day, in cooperation with the International League of Dermatological Societies.
The event aimed to promote awareness on common dermatologic problems and to encourage the public to consult only the true experts on skin, hair, and nails. There were lectures on Sun Protection by Dr. Aileene Dumdum, Eczema Control and Treatment by Dr. Malinda Vasquez, and Psoriasis by Dr. Hopee Solano. The event also featured a discussion on the ABCs of a true dermatologist and the safety issues of IV glutathione by Dr. Marilou Ong, the chapter’s president, and a TV host, Mr. Mike Lopez. An open forum and a few games ensued.
There were about 380 participants, who took advantage of the lectures, the free clinic and free samples from the participating pharmaceutical companies.
For the very first time, the PDS-SPC, was also very fortunate to hold The Skin Museum, which featured interactive art installations and informative tarpaulins on skin, hair, and nails, February 22-25, 2018, at the same venue.
Last March 23-25, 2018, the Skin Museum was held at SM City in Iloilo. Our PDS colleagues took turns in manning the exhibit and were on hand to answer and explain to the curious onlookers questions regarding the skin, hair and nails.
These activities have again proven that the PDS-certified dermatologists are the DermAuthority – Equipped to Heal, Empowered to Lead!
