PDS Southern Luzon LEAP ACTIVITY : BEYOND THE BASICS

Commencing this year’s activities of the PDS Southern Luzon Chapter was the first LEAP activity for the year entitled “Beyond the Basics: Changing the Face of Acne.” Held at the Seda Hotel in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa last March 20, it was one of the most fun-filled mornings that had everyone bursting with laughter and personal discoveries.
Starting the morning was Dr. Rosalina Nadela’s witty adaptation of Family Feud to impart the latest updates on inflammatory acne and its winning solutions in “The Acne Face-Off.” The biggest challenge, aside from jogging their memories early in the day, was the agility to press the button first.
The LEAP activity was highlighted by the captivating talk of a self-proclaimed Steady Carabao more popularly known as Jayson Lo. He made us understand others by understanding ourselves. Unfazed by the audience he faces, he went on to draw out our hidden identities that had us confessing our strengths and weaknesses in no time. It was no wonder his books were immediately sought after his lecture.
Our energetic president, Dr. Peachy Lao, updated us with what our society has been busy with the past few months since she started her tenure. The members were excited to hear that our society has gone paperless and moved all efforts online, such as announcements, convention and membership registrations, the JPDS, Skin Contact, along with the upgrade of our web pages.
Finally, taking this opportunity to announce the Southern Luzon chapter’s newly elected officers, PDS SL president Dr. Lizelle Buenafe introduced Raul Ojeda (VP), Mariliza Echivarre (Secretary), Therese Polintan (Treasurer), and Provincial Reps Florence Buenaventura (Batangas), Malou Sarmiento (Bilco), Patricia Guieb (Cavite), Jeni Pua (Laguna) and Tin Carmona (Quezon). Dr. Lot Diaz is our CME coordinator while Asuncion Quimlat and Florence Castillo are our Skin Fair Coordinators.
