East Avenue Medical Center

About Us

The EAST AVENUE MEDICAL CENTER is a 600-bed, tertiary, general hospital under the Department of Health. It has the primary goal of providing quality medical care and treatment to patients irrespective of sex, socio-economic status and religious creed. Designated by the DOH as a training and teaching center, the hospital provides appropriate training programs, materials and facilities that aim at providing its medical and non-medical staff with opportunities for professional development and competency-building. Thus, with its well-trained and competent professionals, the hospital has continued to achieve its primary goal- the delivery of quality health care services to its patients.

History

The EAST AVENUE MEDICAL CENTER DEPARTMENT OF DERMATOLOGY is an accredited institution of the Philippine Dermatological Society. Officially acknowledged as a Department in January 1999, the Dermatology office transferred to the newly built Out-Patient Department in December 2003. The Department of Dermatology serves as the Dermatology Referral Center of Quezon City, as well as the surrounding cities of Metro Manila and Luzon, specially North and Central Luzon. The Department is presently divided into several units which includes the General Out-Patient Clinic, Contact Dermatitis Clinic, Phototherapy Unit, Dermatologic Surgery Unit and Infectious Dermatology Unit. Consultations are either seen at the out-patient clinic or the hospital wards on a daily basis. The year 2014 marked a milestone in history, as the Department officially inaugurated The Skin Center last December 8, 2014. Once only a dream, The Skin Center has now become a magnificent reality, equipped to provide the highest quality of dermatologic care to all patients in all sectors of society in an atmosphere of compassion, delight, and respect.
