To share our passion and promote the scientific understanding of hair and nails
To educate residents and fellows-in-training of the PDS institutions on hair and nail disorders
To promote public awareness of hair and nail disorders managed effectively by dermatologists
To assist patients in finding local hair and nail specialists
To share and learn from colleagues about hair and nail cases
To foster collaboration in research on hair and nail disorders

Vision

The Philippine Dermatological Society Hair and Nail Special Interest Group is an organization of competently-trained, board-certified dermatologists in the diagnosis and management of hair and nail disorders and are committed in raising awareness of hair and nail disorders and alleviating those suffering from these conditions.

Objectives

To share and learn from colleagues about hair and nail cases
To foster collaborations in research on hair and nail disorders

Membership Requirements

A PDS Diplomate or Fellow in good standing and with good moral character
Attended fellowship training in Hair and/ or Nail Disorders for at least 6 months (absolute requirement)
Involved in any or all of the following:
1. Academic teaching affiliation on hair and/or nail disorders (residency training, fellowship training, basic science teaching activities)
2. Participation in clinical trials and other relevant research on hair and/or nail disorders
3. Authorship on research publications on hair and/or nail disorders
4. Involvement in advocacies on hair and/or nail disorders
5. Focused dermatological practice on hair and/or nail disorders
6. Consistency in attending and participating continuing professional development on hair and nail disorders and those conducted by the SIG

Application Requirements for Membership

PDS Diplomate or Fellow in good standing who must submit a Certificate of Good Standing from the PDS
A letter of intent addressed to the Chair of the interest group stating the reason for application and
proposed involvement with the group
Complete curriculum vitae with 1×1 recent photo
Adherence to the mission and vision of the Hair and Nail Special Interest Group
Certificate of formal training in Hair and/or Nail Disorders
